Old Line Velo’s first official junior racer Taran Thielemann will be flying the colors at the 9 hour Cranky Monkey race this weekend
Say hello to Taran. Taran is the first Old Line Velo member who will be competing in junior races throughout this year. Read a bit about him below:
-Taran is in 7th grade at Dunloggin M.S. and will turn 13 on June 7th
-He has always excelled in lacrosse, football and basketball
-Lacrosse is his favorite sport but he also likes fishing, camping and surfing
– He loves riding his bike- he rides his bike to school all year long even in bad weather. He prefers his bike to taking the bus.
-Taran has done 3 or 4 races in the past few years he has never taken racing seriously but wants to start now.
-Taran won his 6th grade turkey trot in hightop basketball shoes without training- he won a ten pound turkey!
-Taran will do the Cranky Monkey 9 hour this coming weekend with his dad as a duo. His goal is to complete 3 laps
-He loves to travel with his family and has been to France several times (Has seen several stages of The Tour), the carribean, and southwest US.
-Taran was seen several times (very briefly) in the second Leadville 100 movie The Race Across the Sky 2 especially at end running across the finish line with his sister
-Favorite foods – nutella crepes, cheetos, pop tarts and of course brussel sprouts and spinach…the last two not so much
-Favorite teams Ravens, Ohio State Buckeyes, Maryland terps, Hopkins lacrosse
